I AUSTRALIAS PRESENT WONDER, PETER PAN The Sydney Referee, Australias greatest sporting paper, under the questioning head, "Any to Compare With Peter Pan?" challenges the world to produce another race horse to compare with the present-day idol of the Antipodes. It goes on to tell of two remarkable performances by Peter Pan within four days. On Saturday, April 20, Peter Pan won the Doncaster Stakes, and ran the two miles of that race in 3:23, within a fraction of the Australian record for the distance, and then to show his versatility came back on Wednesday, April 24, to win the All-Ages Stakes, and run a mile in 1:35 1-2, an Australian record. He has done what no other horse has done in the last seventy-two years, won two Melbourne cups. Peter Pans earnings now amount to 52,500.
