GIFT O GAB raced PLAYING into submission to take command after a quarter mile, was steadied along in the lead, drew out under pressure in the stretch and held MY LETITIA safe in the drive. The latter moved up stoutly after being reserved for a half mile, finished stoutly, but just lasted to stall off SALVUS. The latter, in close quarters in the early racing, secured racing room on the inside through the stretch and finished fast. PLAYING had early speed while racing with the winner, but tired at the end. HANNAH ANNE, forced to race wide, finished stoutly. THERMAL quit. ARDAWN flashed some early speed, but tired badly. WAR HASTE was never a strong contender. LIPTON, away forwardly, was taken back from ihe pace of the leaders, swung to the outside entering the stretch to take command, but had to be rigorously ridden to stall off SPEY CREST. The latter gradually bettered his position in the early racing, moved up swiftly through the stretch and was wearing the winner down. FIRE REEL had nice speed while racing with SOLID in the lead, saved ground on the rail on the turns, but tired. MASONVILLE could not match the speed of the early leaders, but closed a good gap. ARBRANCH made up some ground. BARTON GAL could never enter contention. SAFARI wheeled after the start. TOMMY ROSE, in a contending position from the start, swung to the outside of the leaders in the stretch and, finishing fast, was up in the final stride. QUEENS COLOR, allowed to drop back on the turn, finished with a ruh between horses in the stretch, secured a short lead a few yards out and just failed to last. DALAMAC, away slowly, moved around the trailers to enter contention on the far turn, secured room on the inside entering the stretch, finished very fast and was probably best. DORIS RAMSDEN moved into close contention on the outside on the turn, challenged boldly in the stretch, but tired. MEDONTE was made too much use of racing with GOANWIN in the early stages and tired. GOANWIN had speed to establish the lend, saved ground em the inside throughout, but tired in the final eighth. Scratched 33215 Daily Dozen, 102. Won easily; second and third driving. WORTH TRYING. taken under restraint behind the pace of BALAXY. responded well through the stretch to take command easily and was never threatened thereafter. BALAXY had good speed to set the early pace, gave way to the winner, but continued gamely. NOTROUBLE, always well up and racing on the inside, saved ground on the turns and finished stoutly. BUDRON, forced to race on the outside, could not threaten. RISCO raced evenly. SANTA ROLO could never improve her position while racing on the outside. POVERTY STRUCK, fractious at the post and breaking from outside the stalls, never entered serious contention. Scratched 33414lsleworth, 113; Achcna, 113; 30810 Uva, 113. GOGGLES, rated close to the pace of STORMER in the early racing, wore the latter down to take command in the final turn, drew clear, but had to be kept under pressure to the finish. CHAT EAGLE lacked early speed to match the leaders, moved up stoutly to enter contention on the outside on the final turn, finished fast to outgame ROCHE DOR in the drive, but could not reach the winner. The latter, always in a contending position, made a determined bid through the stretch, but was not good enough. SASS, always well placed, responded threateningly in the stretch, but faltered at the end. FRIGID FROSTY closed a gap. STORMER quit in the final qdarter. DARK .MISSION was never a factor. PITCHBLENDE had speed to take command at once, was well rated in front for the entire trip and had enough left to hold GALTHEA safe. The latter raced closest to the winner at all times, made a determined challenge in the stretch, but was not good enough. DODIODO, under restraint until entering the stretch, finished with cod speed. EGAD gradually bettered his position, moved up stoutly in the stretch, but hung. MODERN ACE, taken back from the early pace, finished strongly on the outside. BAGGATAWAY, rated within reach of the leader, flattened out when placed to punishment when finishing on the inside. Scratched-33285 Des Lovely, 10and-.
