l SPORTSMANS PARK NOTES f - and George Foster, secretary of the Illinois Racing Commission, opened that boards offices at Sportsmans Park Friday for the purpose of accepting license applications of trainers, jockeys, and stable attaches. Charles F. Cherry has six head to carry his colors during the local meeting. They are Texas Maid, Imprimis, Sweet Jean, Scotch Tom, Fair Boy and Chief Geronimo. Bennie Perrin has two here, Verde Grey and Candy Wrapper, while M. Arteriano has a like number ready for the opening. They are Noitso and Miss Harmful. M. D. Livingston has taken out the two-year-old Dark Wit to train for F. Umbden-stock. W. N. Burkhart and W. R. Jarvis plan to race the horses in their charge at Sportsmans Park during the first week of that meeting, and then will ship to Arlington Downs. Clyde Troutt has nine head at Sportsmans Park preparing for the meeting there and at the conclusion of the Lincoln Fields meeting will transfer those he has at the Crete course. Troutts colors are familiar to patrons here, having seldom missed the local season. C. E. Davison plans to split his stable and race several of his horses at Sportsmans Park, the balance to go to Texas. Davison has not yet decided which racers he will campaign at the local course. Basil James, leading rider of the Illinois season, will be seen in action here during the first week of the meeting. Then he will join the Tranquillity Farm Stable, which holds his contract, in Kentucky. Albert Sabath, president of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Association, operating Hawthorne, will be represented at Sportsmans Park by his entire string, in charge of C. E. Durnell. Among the jockeys who will follow their vocations during the local meeting are S. Vail, L. Wilson, J. Leyland, F. Burley, K. McCray, D. Edwards, J. Atkinson, A. Vessel!, C. Lamb, A. Richard, C. Mills, R. G. Cooper, H. Kees, W. J. Griffin, L. Gcving, E. Evans, T. P. Martin, J. Gardelle, H. Hauer, M. Terry, C. Crowhurst, R. Ross and R. R. Simpson.
