FRANK C. worked his way up on the outside, responded well to hard urging during the final quarter and was up in the last few strides to overhaul BILLY MOLE. The latter was rushed to the front soon after the break, saved ground throughout and held on with good courage in the drive, but was unable to withstand the winner. The latter forced the pace most of the trip, took a slight lead after straightening out in the stretch and faltered in the last few strides. AMITE finished fast and gamelv. FIRST ENTRY, slow to get going, improved his position gradually on the inside, was taken to the outside leaving the back stretch, quickly disposed of CROUT AU POT and won with something in reserve. CROUT AU POT forced the early pace, took a commanding lead leaving the back stretch and tired under hard riding. LEONARD WILSON broke fast, was allowed to drop far out of it, closed with a rush and made up some ground. VOLTA MAID displayed her usual early speed, but was through after three-quarters.
