Wagering Facilities Rearranged to Overcome Congested Conditions of Past Several Innovations. MIAMI, Fla., Oct. 9. Untiring in his efforts to maintain Hialeah Park as winters racing paradise, both in modernized appointments and tropical beauty, Joseph E. Wide-ner, president of the Miami Jockey Club, has announced additional improvements for Hialeah Park, which will open January 13 for forty-six of the ninety-four days racing period in Florida. One of the major changes will take place in the clubhouse, which is practically being remodeled to accommodate the demand for private boxes. Last season it was necessary to install additional accommodations in the box section of the grandstand, bringing the total up to 155, but even this number was not enough and a large waiting list had to be turned down. To remedy the situation president Widener is installing twenty-four new boxes in the clubhouse, making it necessary to build a second story over the exclusive Hialeah Club balcony. The new boxes, larger than those in the grandstand and fitted out with comfortable easy chairs and smoking sets, will be available to Hialeah Club members only. Mr. Widener points out the advantages of the Hialeah Club, in that the membership fee of 25 includes two tsx paid admission buttons for the season, one for the lady and one for the man, good every day with the exception of Charity Day Lincolns birthday, February 12, when the entire track receipts will go to worthy causes. Only holders of Hialeah Club memberships arc entitled to the privilege of subscribing to the new balcony boxes. NEW CASHING DEPARTMENT. Clubhouse wagering facilities are being rearranged to overcome the congested conditions of the past The main floor mutuels, which heretofore contained both selling and cashing booths, will be reserved for ticket purchasers only. A new cashing department will be provided in the area underneath the main floor, easy access to both places being maintained by a rampway. Additional betting facilities are to be had on the" mezzanine floor for patrons of the Hialeah Club, with an increase to nine mu-tuel windows. A separate entrance will be provided to the balcony, just off the directors room, where refreshments are available to club members. A new powder room for Hialeah Club ladies will complete the clubhouse improvements within. Each of the three terraces on the clubhouse promenade is being extended in order to accommodate 250 more chairs. The dining room terrace, which overlooks the palm-bedecked paddock, is being doubled in width. The administration building also is being enlarged to comfortably accommodate the official family. The beauty of the lake-dotted infield is being enhanced by a hedge border of purple-flowered bougainvillea to mark the turf course.
