CANADIAN BREEDERS MEET In Favor of Governing Body to Control Racing in Province of Ontario. TORONTO, Ont, Oct 9. A large, enthusiastic general meeting of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association was held in the King Edward Hotel here Thursday night. The meeting went on record as unanimously approving the resolution of the action of the directors in co-operating with the Incorporated Canadian Racing Associations in forming a governing body to control racing in the Province of Ontario. It is felt that prompt action in this matter i3 more imperative now than ever. A resolution was also passed unanmously requesting the federal government, Ottawa, through the Department of Agriculture, that a saliva test box be installed at every racing track in the Dominion of Canada, and the said saliva test be taken under the supervision of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as it is felt by the breeders of the association that such steps are necessary for the protection of the industry as well as the public. The annual election of officers was held, resulting in the following directors being elected: W. Davies, Dr. G. H. Ellis, James Fair, J. C. Fletcher, George Hardy, James Hefferlng, Dr. C. N. Mooney, Ryland H. New and W. T. Newmarch. At a subsequent meeting of the directors George Hardy was re-elected president; James Heffering, vice-president; Ryland H. New, treasurer, and W. W. Ferguson, secretary.
