KING ROYALE came to the outside after entering the stretch to finish fast under urging and, wearing down LITTLE CONARD, scored in a drive. The latter had fine early speed and took a clear lead entering the stretch, but could not resist the winner. CRYSTAL SHEIK closed ground gamely under urging. RUNIRE was well up from the start. BEAU THOR raced to the front early, racing as if easily best, drew out when ready and won in hand. PIPE DOWN, never far from the pace, went well to the end. TARPER had enough speed to remain close up and, although tiring near -the end, held GAME O DOON to a dead heat for third place. The latter was in close quarters early, but going well at the end. MAGNANIMOUS, hustled along close to the pace from the start, took a short lead entering the stretch and racing strongly next to the rail, withstood a challenge from FANFERN and held the latter to the end, in a drive. FANFERN was close to the pace on the outside from the start and moved up to the winner at mid-stretch, but swerved and dropped back slightly. SEMAPHORE was in close quarters early, but closed much ground to finish fast. GEORGIA MISS was fairly well up from the start. PRINCESS ATHENE, well rated back of the early leaders, closed with a rush midway of the stretch and under a drive, raced on to win going away. SKY PIRATE raced to the front at once, drew out in the first quarter to a good lead, saved ground on the inside all the way, but failed to stall off the winner in the final drive. MUMSIE, always withing striking distance, closed with good courage in the final eighth. LADY ROMA showed good early speed, but tired in a stretch drive.
