I AURORA TURF NOTES f I Five horses of J. D. Larkin arrived from Hot Springs. Eighteen head, which are owned, and trained by Frank Seremba, arrived in a two carload shipment from New Orleans. They consisted of several two-year-olds, along with the older horses which Seremba; raced in New Orleans. In another carload from New Orleans, six head were consigned for "Red" Womel-dorff, three for A. Staehle, two for S. Molay, and one for Frank Reily. The parking space of the Fox Valley Jockey Club is being completely covered with fresh gravel and will prove an added facility to" patrons this coming meeting. The road approach also is being graded, which will make a hit with fans. The track proper is coming along in fine shape with several hundred cubic yards of a combination of red sand and dirt, which is being worked into the regular soil. Horsemen say it will soften the Aurora strip considerably. Racing secretary Leigh received an application from Tommy Root, trainer for the powerful S. Pershall stable, who will ship twelve head to Aurora. Root claimed three of four very useful horses in Florida last winter. J. Bronnenberg requested stable room for ten head. G. R. Bryson will ship twelve head to Aurora from Maryland during the next week. He has not decided yet whether- he will ship his good racer Calumet Dick, although Fox Valley officials are trying to prevail on him to do so because of the possibility of a return meeting with Zevson. New Orleans champion.
