1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES and Goldie Mitchell received a message from Jack Westrope, one of Americas leading riders, stating that the jockey had accepted an engagement to ride for W. H. Furst, California turfman, and that he wished Mitchell to take over his book. He plans to leave for Keeneland to join Westrope before the end of the Kentucky meeting. Gorge Woolf, crack rider, will arrive this week at Arlington Downs. Woolf is motoring to the Waggoner track from San Mateo and will arrive in time to ride Heelfly in the Texas Derby. A. F. Johnson sold the thee-year-old Little Coed to G. Spharlar. Terms were private. Sister Polly, Soaring Witch and Pompous Genie arc additions to starter Roy Dicker-sons schooling list. Dickerson has a rule that if an owner schools his horses regularly he permits the fractious animal to start. E. W. Ebbert came up from the Alamo City and plans remaining here for the running of the Texas Derby. Robert McGarvey, trainer of the Milky Way Farms stable, is planning on shipping a division of his stable to Churchill Downs, Sunday. Reaping Reward, winter book favorite for the Kentucky Derby, will be in the shipment, and he will receive his final preparation for the world-famed classic over its home course. Black Sergeant, Caw Caw, Hoptoit and Malimou were added to starter Roy Dicker-sons schooling list. General manager Trav Daniels Is trying to locate the relatives of a man believed to be M. Scales, who died at a Fort Worth hospital Tuesday morning. A trainers badge issued to M. Scales at Oaklawn Park was found on the man, who was stricken while in the grandstand enclosure at Arlington Downs, Sunday morning. As an aid to the program printer, scratch time for Derby Day, Saturday, April 17, has been set for 8 oclock. On all other days scratch time is 8:30.
