t CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES c and With two such aces of jockeydom as Basil James, last years saddle champion, and the crafty veteran, George Woolf, reported under call to the stable for the Kentucky Derby, the E. R. Bradley entry of Brooklyn and Billionaire becomes more formidable as the Idle Hour establishment completes plans under which it will try to take the coming renewal for its fifth victory in the coveted prize. Injuries suffered by Joe Renick, who is under contract to the stable, in a fall at Bowie, are mending nicely, but Joe may not be ready to return to colors until after the Derby has been run and this probability sent the stable to the "open market" for two instead of one pilot, it was reported. Humbert Chall, ninety-eight pound Chicago lad, who rode with good success on the Pacific Coast during the winter, will be at Keeneland with his engagements being made by Roy Slomer, who also will have the book of Raymond Workman. Chall is under contract to Al Dunne, trainer of the D. W. Butler stable. John Gaver, trainer of the Greentree Stable, sent York, Jamboree, Tattered and the two-year-old by Pennant Kenya to Churchill Downs and brought back the three-year-old White Tie and a pair of juveniles, the bay gelding by Pharamond II. Byronia, and the black filly by Whichone Shrine. The latter trio had just arrived at the Louisville track from the Greentree Stables spring training grounds at Red Bank. Should the three mares yet to foal at Sbandon Farm have sons, the present breeding season would pass without a filly turning up at the Chicago-owned nursery, which Is managed by John J. Greeley, Jr. Trainer Odie Clelland has divided the large stable he is training for Mrs. R. J. Murphy of Evansville, sending sevon to Douglas Park, while keeping nine at Churchill Downs. The unit at the Winn track consists of Lady Confucius, Misinformation, Zelady, Little Nymph, Bay Boy, Draco, Sailor Man, Lucy and the two-year-old Ac-cordian. Three juveniles and the older Blessed Again, Iceberg, Ima Greenock and Stepinanna went to the Beechmont course. .Jockeys M. L. Fallon and Paul Clelland and the likely apprentice W. L. Johnson accompanied the Murphy stable here from the South. Frank Swain plans to start his only horse, Just Buck, in several races during the Keeneland meeting. The rearranged division of the Manhasset Stable and the Greentree Stable, trained by John Gaver, includes five at Churchill Downs and thirteen at Keeneland. AH of the horses at the local track, along with several transferred to Lexington yesterday, were shipped west from Red Bank. In the division at the Downs are Tattered, York. Jamboree and the two-year-olds Pirate Flag, Red Breast, Julius Caesar, Mythical King and Alpenglow, while the draft at Keeneland embraces the Kentucky Derby candidate, White Tie, as well as Airy Going, Brush Hook, Minister, Scottish Mary, Ban-jorine and the juveniles Septime, Housekeeper, Armor Bearer, Birthday, Trap Nest, sDerbf CeFuls.
