The latter displayed her customary early speed, set a good pace and held on gamely, but could not withstand the winner. BRENTWOOD LAD began slowly, worked his way between horses and closed strongly. LITIGATION acted badly at the gate, broke from outside the stalls and showed a good effort. BERNARDINE W. tired in the last eighth. CAPUCHE dropped out of it after a half. The latter, close up fyom the break, came through on the inside to disposer of NOVETTE after going three-eighths and continued gamely to the end. CHEROKEE RED came to the outside and finished gamely. NOVETTE was quickly rushed into the lead, raced well for three-eighths, then tired. JANE was away slowly and made up some ground. EIL-WEIR closed a gap.
