TERMISONS SECOND STRAIGHT I Series of Claiming Races Make Up Card at Riverside Park Rain Before Opener. KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 16. The midweek offering at Riverside Park was made up of a series of claiming races, with one exception, which was the fifth on the program, styled the Joplin Purse, in which a select band of sprinters went postward to compete over six furlongs. Just before the horses paraded to the post i for the first race a heavy downpour of rain visited the course and, while it did not affect the track conditions for the first race, it was expected that the rain would slow down the time in the later races. Despite the cloudy weather, another large crowd was on hand and the speculating in the booths was brisk. Termison scored his second straight victory of the meeting when at the end of the five furlongs of the first race he was three lengths in the van of H. F. Millers Lucky Cargo, which raced in second place all the way. Pandonna, making her first start at i Riverside Park, finished gamely in the stretch to take the minor portion of the j purse from the tiring Kerrylite. The winner jwas ridden by J. Adams and was a mild I choice in the wagering.
