FIELD PLAYERS WIN. i Field players came into their own in the third race, also for lowly platers and at six furlongs, when Fitkin was a handy winner over Sequoia, Dark Roamer and nine others, including the heavily-supported Burning Billows, which showed little to justify her support. A dead heat for second honors which found Sirgay and Billy Mole locked at the end of the six furlongs and a nose back of Jack Carters Smart Girl, climaxed the running of the fourth race, for which the fractious Kermay was an odds-on choice. The favorite, which showed little, was very rank at the post, unseating his rider and breaking his bridle. He also aided High Polish, which chased the winner for five furlongs, in causing undue interference on the far turn. When High Polish gave way, Sirsray, on the outside, and Billy Mole, which was steered through the field, finished with determined rushes and were lapped.
