NOTAR, showing good early speed, was well rated while withstanding challenges from TWO EDGED and, saving ground in the stretch, held the latter to the finish. TWO EDGED, never far from the pace, raced rather wide in the stretch, but raced fairly well to the finish. STONY BROOK made up some ground and was going well at the end. HEATHER TIME showed fine speed from the start arid, racing as if best, held FIGARO safe to win under urging. FIGARO was always closest to the winner and showed a good effort, but was not good enough. FIRST PORT raced fairly well, but seemed outclassed by the first two. BANG made up some ground. GALPEN was in close, quarters on the inside early. PRINCE SAXON raced greenly. LYSANDER was sent after the leaders during the back stretch run and, gradually forging to the front when ready after going half the distance, was never in serious danger in the stretch. BON HAMBURG waited too long before making his move, then came very fast on the outside and was going strongest at the end. MARIA JULIET also made her move too late, but finished gamely. EASTER TOMMY was never a contender, although closing some ground. ARTHUR W. and SKY GREY were used up making the pace and were done after going three-quarters. BOSWORTH was close up from the start and, drawing away from the field leaving the back stretch, was never in serious danger, although ridden out at the end. CHIANA, in close quarters on the inside in the early stages, raced up on horses heels repeatedly and had little chance until she came to the outside, then finished fast and was gaining. KING ROYALE made a mild bid in the stretch. BOSTON BROOK was taken back in the early running and did not get going until the race was practically over. WHISPER raced with the leaders in the early stages, then dropped back suddenly rounding the far turn and was never dangerous thereafter. FLASHING COLORS beat the others away and, continuing well after being headed by TOROBANG, caught the latter again when ready in the stretch to take a good lead and had enough, left to hold. SIR WINDSOR. The latter, never far away, staged a game finish and was gaining. GALLANT EAGLE was permitted to drop many lengths back of the field soon after the start, then closed ground gradually in the last half mile and was going fairly well at the finish.
