LATEST RECRUIT TO RACING LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 19. Among new colors to be introduced during the Churchill Downs spring meeting will be those of Herbert N. Lape, Sr., prominent shoe manufacturer of Columbus, Ohio. For this new patron, A. L. Taylor, well known Ohio horseman, is training the juvenile fillies Golden Shoe and Scioto River. The former is one of the first offspring of Big Brand, which raced with distinction here and at other tracks, while Scioto River is sired by Chatover; Both are eligible to compete in the thirty-eighth running of the Debutante Stakes, down for decision on Friday, May 6. In the shoe business Lape is associated with W. A. Julian of Cincinnati, treasurer of the United States.
