ROMAUNT, going in his best form and improved with blinkers, lost ground on the stretch turn, came fast when straightened and outfinished LITTLE PINKEY. The latter, never far back and in close quarters early, improved his position through the field and wore down SLY KITTY" soon after reaching the final eighth, but failed to last. GRAPE VINE worked her way forward steadily and finished strongly. ARBOREAL never far back and on the inside after a quarter, showed a good effort. JAY HEART raced wide and had no mishaps SLY KITTY sprinted into a good lead during the opening quarter and tired rapidly in the drive. HOLTON failed to keep up. COPY CAT, going in his best form and hard hustled throughout, assumed a clear lead soon after the start, saved ground throughout, but required strenuous urging in the late stages to withstand the challenge of VOLO SNOW. The latter, never far out of it and strongly handled, improved his position gradually and was getting to the winner in the last sixteenth. DON COSSACK was fractious at the gate, broke with the leaders and was prominent all the way. NUTRUSH broke slowly, worked his way up through the field and closed strongly. AL-HIGH, away fast, dropped back soon after the start and never threatened thereafter. ETHICAL could not keep up and bore out on the stretch turn. RANGE DUST, hustled along from the start, wore down EXPRESS after a quarter, was unable to draw clear, responded to strong urging in the last stages and held EXPRESS safe. The latter, rushed into the lead after a sixteenth, gave way to the winner," but held on gamely. BATTER took command at once, bore out soon afterward, raced wide to the stretch and made up ground in the final sixteenth RUDE AWAKENING raced evenly and showed a good effort. SHINING HEELS sprinted into a clear lead early, increased her advantage under light urging and won easily. BUSTLE, never far back, was forced to race wide nearing the stretch turn, came fast when straightened, bore over on FOUNTAIN HEAD and finished strongly. FOUNTAIN HEAD, lucky to find room when improving his position, met interference approaching the final eighth and showed little thereafter SISTER POLLY, used up in the pace, tired after five-eighths. ODDESA DON tired. DON MOSS came from well back. MR. DEINS, outrun for five-eighths, made up ground thereafter. FAIR SO raced wide early and showed little. GENEVRA M. had no mishaps. GALSUN, well up from the start and under light restraint, lost ground on the stretch turn, continued gamely under strong urging, but could not threaten the winner. RECUSSION began sluggishly, improved her position gradually and closed strongly. VALTED forced the early pace, gained a slight lead before going a half mile, but tired when challenged. POTTAGE on the outside throughout and hard hustled, improved her position steadily and showed a good effort. VICTORY MISS was much used in the first three-quarters and tii-ed in the stretch. ENTREE, away fast, assumed a big lead quickly and saved much ground throughout, but tired after seven-eighths. GLAD WINGS, in close quarters early and forced back, improved her position when clear.
