SEA SHELL, beginning quickly, was steered out into the firmer footing immediately after the start, came out into the middle of the track when straightened into the stretch and held on stoutly to stall off BARKER. The latter bettered his position on the outside and finished wearing down the winner steadily Hearing the end. TIN DEVIL, sluggish in the early racing, settled into stride and finished stoutly after saving some ground on the stretch turn. WALLI failed to stay when the real test came. OF COURSE raced in the. deep footing all the way and failed to rally when the leaders swung very wide on the stretch turn. POLLY FAIR tired after going three-eighths. ZELITONE was outrun. APPREHEND, at home in the going, handled his weight nicely while racing in hand on the outside in the early running, moved up fast to engage the loaders, took command on the stretch turn to open up a good lead, then finished with speed in reserve. ICY WIND raced in the first flight, dropped back on the stretch turn and came again noaring the close. BROADSTEP was hurried to the front, shook off BALCONY, but tired in the stretch drive after being taken out into the firmer footing. SYLVIA G. was a strong contender while racing on the inside, but tired after five-eighths. GALLOPING raced evenly. DIZZY DAME broke slowly, then closed gamely. BALCONY quit. ALIT was outrun. BE JABBERS opened up a wide lead in the first quarter mile, was steered into the firmer footing, continued strongly and drew out without effort nearing the finish. TOWN CAR, racing forwardly from the start, failed to menace the winner when the real test came. CALAMEGA worked his way up stoutly after being slow to settle into his stride, but was unable to threaten the first two. HI-TIDE was in the first flight from the beginning, but was held perfectly safe. SCOUT ROSE tired after going five-eighths. NEED-MORE was always outrun. OLD MAIN ROAD raced evenly. AT POST 8 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. NIGHT INTRUDER, in the thick of contention early and showing good ability in the footing, raced to the leaders stoutly on the turn, came strongly when reaching the stretch and wore down NO ENDING inside the final sixteenth. NO ENDING was prominent early under stout urging, raced to the front when reaching the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. PETIT JEAN raced well placed and came strongly in the final drive. COGIE was rushed hard to gain a short lead while racing in the deep footing, was unable to get clear and tired in the stretch drive. MAXINE dropped far out of contention, then closed with a belated rush. MEXICO CITY raced well. SONGSTOP was done early. WAY OUT raced well for a half mile, then quit. SPRING MEADOW was rushed to his field rapidly after the break, made a stout effort rounding the turn and held on well when finishing in the deeper footing on the inside through the stretch. FAIR COMPANY bettered her position on the outside and was going gamely at the end. BILLMAR was strongly handled all the way, but Jailed to threaten seriously. ABDICATE showed speed for five-eighths, then tired. CACODEMON had a rough trip. DINNER JACKET met with slight interference on the turn out of the back stretch. BLIND EAGLE, rated close to the leaders, challenged strongly in the Jast five-sixteenths and held on strongly to the end. BUNNY BABY forced a steady pace in .the first seven-eighths -gained a slight lead midway of the stretch, but tired in the final eighth. CREPE showed much speed while setting the pace, raced in the best footing, but was not good enough. CHAPS failed to rally to punishment when shaken up . EVERGOLD outran his field to the first turn, was steadied until challenged, rallied nicely and outstayed HIGH TENSION. HIGH TENSION followed closest to the winner from the beginning, made a strong bid entering the stretch, then hung nearing the close. SILENT SHOT, rated back of the leaders, rallied when shaken up and closed gamely on the inside of the leaders. MIDSHIPMAN passed tiring horses in the last quarter mile. BLACK FALCON raced well for three-quarters, then tired. SHOT UP was always outrun. ROYAL TREAD had no excuses.
