i 1 BEULAH PARK TURF NOTES f $ J. Goodwin has arrived with his stable from Tropical Park for Beulah Parks spring meeting, from May 4 to May 30, inclusive. The Goodwin shipment included Broom Tour, Don Gomez, Gentleman Jack, Bold General, Rocky Mount, Ann Brock, Zump and Maple Barbara. Trainer G. Wedell brought Cosmic Ray and Lum Joy from Havana. Other arrivals from that point included L. Daly with Remeilla and Flocking; C. Lemon with Ante Bellum, and My Peter and H. Sobel with The Corner. The Rew, five-year-old bay gelding owned by Miss M. Hodge, died here of shipping fever, contracted en route from New Orleans. One of the most consistent runners of the winter meeting at the Fair Grounds, The Rew was in the money in sixteen of eighteen starts, winning in the neighborhood of ,500. Although the loss of The Rew will be keenly felt, trainer Dave Sodders will have a formidable stable to campaign for Miss Hodge. In the string are Colorist, Dame Grundy, Pineaway and Amasin. Distance races are expected to be very popular at the spring meeting, May 4 to 30, inclusive. A number of good routers are on hand, including Legal Gamble, Miss Adele, Cabotin, Dusty Lane and many others.
