BOW LAND, slow to break when the start came, has hustled forward on the outside rounding the turn, drew clear entering the stretcli and was under pressure to the end to hold off TOBY T. The latter, away slowly, closed with a rush through the final eighth and was wearing the winner down at every stride nearing the end. PLEASE DOCTOR, well placed throughout, had no mishaps. COSWEEP raced wide entering the stretch and bucked in the running. MARYS CRICKET had brief speed. Overweight — Marys Cricket, 3 pounds. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. LOVELY JO forced the speedy pace of COLORED ARTIST, was taken in hand when outrun rounding the far turn, came again through the stretch, bobbled at a slippery spot inside the final sixteenth, then closed gamely to out-finish COLORED ARTIST. The latter sprinted into an early lead then faltered badly through the final eighth. CHIPS made up ground through the final quarter mile. ALLONS quit. ZANGWILL made up ground from a slow besinnine. RIDING HOOD had brief speed. MADDING forced the pace, made a determined bid going to the final obstacle but W unable to reach the winner in the final drive. SAND FIELD, outrun the first turn of the field, made up ground thereafter. ROCKALONG had brief speed. FAIR DIANA tired badly. Overweight — Rockalong, 1 pound. Corrected weight — Sand Field, 152. HOPE DIAMOND worked its way forward steadily in the first three eighths, closed with a rush when placed to pressure in the stretch, wore down the leaders and was going away at the end. SJR MARLBORO shook off TAUT after the first eighth, drew clear rounding the turn, closed gamely but had little left when the winner challenged. LORRAINE S. slipped through on the inside in the stretch run and closed eamely. NELL KUHLMAN saved ground entering the stretch and made up ground. GENE D. raced EL BANDIDO into defeat then bore out when faltering entering the stretch. EL BANDIDO quit after displaying early speed. BE JUST had speed for three-eiehths. LOLOMA forced the early pace, came out entering the stretch, then swerved to the inside while tiring in the final eighth. FIGHT BACK raced evenlv. SILVULUS was unable to threaten.
