j j j ] I B. MYRES IN NEW ROLE COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 24.— Benny Myres will return to Ascot Park for the nineteen-day spring meeting there, opening Saturday, in a new role. Myres, who has ridden many winners at meetings not only in Ohio, but also in several other states and in Can-ada, has given up saddle work due to increasing weight and is now the trainer of the Rosen-Goshcn Stable of Columbus. Myres originally hailed from Indiana, but in recent years he has been making his home in Grove City, Ohio. His favorite mount was McKell, the veteran sprinter which liked nothing better than to poke his nose across the wire just in front of Odd Star, Jimmy Bronnenbergs sprinter, which hooked up in several speed duels with McKell. Oddly enough, Myres is now training McKell, which is owned by Miss M. Cole. ! Others in his stable are Morcry, a three-j year-old, and Felawake, both owned by Rosen and Goshen.
