OMAHA, Neb., May 24.— Thoroughbreds of the race track from all sections of the country literally poured into Omaha Monday for the opening of the annual Ak-Sar-Ben race meeting next Saturday at 2 p. m. While hundreds already are stabled at Ak-Sar-Ben field, scores more will arrive before the eve of the big opening which is expected to be the greatest in racing history here. Five carloads, which left California Sunday, are expected to arrive Tuesday. There are three from Agua Caliente and two from San Francisco and, among these thoroughbreds, are some of the best on the West Coast. Arriving Monday from Montana was E. F. Marsh of Nible, with Reeds Choice, Prompt Return and Carlue, while two shipments from Kansas brought McGonigle, owned by Ralph Armstrong of Anthony, and Aria Dale, owned by E. J. Calvin, Ottawa. TEXAS CONSIGNMENT. Texas stepped into the picture with the record shipment from one state for the day. Twenty-one thoroughbreds from the Lone Star state began nibbling their hay and oats in Ak-Sar-Ben stables. They included: C. N. Brewer, Pompa, Texas; Weedidit, Cornelia Powell, Davids Boy, Murphys Luck. From Arlington, Texas, came George Jen-i kins with a stable of five, Phalomo, Ski, Bronc Rider, Network and Nigrescent. Of the Texas points represented in the days arrivals Newcastle took first place in number with a total of seven thoroughbreds, when J. F. Daniels registered for Royal Cloud, Battan, Clock Winder, Newcastles Lad, Semi Color and My Prisoner. J. B. Jenkins, Fort Worth, brought Triple Play, while G. R. Atha of Kings Ranch, brought Port Lars and Tonys Joy. OKLAHOMA REPRESENTATIVES. Oklahoma was the second state with four owners unloading thirteen horses primed for the twenty-eight-day meeting which will end the Fourth of July. They were: V. V. Long, Oklahoma City, Max Martis, Rhinex, Laughing Heels, and Kianna; H. Miller, Tulsa, Lucky Cargo, Nora Crana, Spari, Captain Gilstrap, and Blue Ellen; Andy Tomlinson, Watonga, Walter B., and Avnaug; Roy Hodges, Chickawa, Prince Westward, and Chief Scout. Other arrivals included: James B. Hulquinn, Denver. Color Lifter; J. A. Fouts, Aurora, 111., Donn: James; James Townsend, Des Moines, la., March Step, Be Square, Wingo, and Monroes Gift; Bernard Kelly, Creston, la., Laddies Chance, Fancy Six, Peter E., Little Rival; Carl Smith, Fort Collins, Colo., Move Thru, Duranald; J. J. Van Dolak, York, Neb., Happy Venture.
