] CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES j «, s Black Mistress, Burning Wood and Ann Star were shipped to River Downs Monday by Kirby Ramsey. The trio race for E. H. Baumgardner. Janice, S. G. Bakers candidate for the Kentucky Oaks, arrived Monday morning from River Downs in charge of Lyndon Smoke. « Jockey Alfred Robertson leaves Friday for Aurora, where on Saturday he will be astride one of Milky Way Farms colorbearers in the Illinois Derby. On Memorial Day Robertson will be in silks at Lincoln Fields, where he has engagements in the ,000 added Crete Handicap and other races on the inaugural program of the Lincoln Fields meeting. Sam Bryant Ott plans to transfer his stable of twelve from here to Lincoln Fields Saturday night. His stable is headed by the good three-year-old Employer and the older handicap performer Safe and Sound. Instead of getting away Tuesday, as originally planned, Ralph Mcllvain decided to remain another day before shipping the Indian Lake Stable to Lincoln Fields. After filling his engagement on Gangplank or Birthday in the Illinois Derby Saturday, I Eddie Arcaro will probably come to Churchill Downs to ride either Cherry Jam or Third Degree in the ,000 added Bashford Manor Stakes, to be contested next Monday. Porter Roberts, also under engagement to Greentree Stable, will have the mount on the other juvenile. The horses of W. C. Reichert, Belleville, 111., sportsman, will be shipped to Lincoln Fields the latter part of the week by trainer W. I. Pultz. Steve Judge has decided to ship the Wood-vale Farm horses of Mrs. R. G. Martin to Fairmount Park. In the consignment will be a trio of three-year-olds and five two-year-olds. Bess B., Miss Salute and Lady Charlotte are the older campaigners, while the juveniles are Whinchat, Florence M., All Spades, Miss Mint Drop and Just Tiny. Jockey Warren Cornay, one of the leading riders at New Orleans last winter, will accompany the stable. Charles Gentry has decided to remain for the duration of the meeting before shipping his stable to Agawam Park.
