1 DETROIT TURF NOTES ~ $ The racing commission office was opened at the Fair Grounds yesterday, for the receipt of applications for licenses. It is I in charge of R. L. Hanrahan who has been a member of the commissions staff since the sport was revived here five years ago. G. W. Bell, who lost Canadian Girl in I the fire that destroyed a barn at Mt. Clem- i ons, a month ago, brought in Dunfern, I Pipers Tune and Lirnoges. R. J. Pierst, who also lost several horses in the fire, has 1 Imperial Nick and Thirty. W. L. Dowlings Hasty Harry, Carl Ade and Miss Shirley. which were saved from the fire, also arrived from Mt. Clemons. Charles Raynor arrived from Maryland with Satchen and Lillian Z.
