1 LINCOLN FIELDS TURF NOTES I e « Cecil Howard checked in here from Tan-foran and will remain for the season. He has the horses of R. C. Thatcher, Colorado patron, and the stable includes Our Reigh, Over Yonder, OBuddy, Agotaras and Silver Braid. J. G. Wilson, who is pacing the riders at Aurora this spring, will begin the Lincoln Fields season as a full-fledged jockey. Wilson rode the first winner of his life at Detroit on May 28, 1937. He is under engagement to the P. L. Kelly stable, which will be represented here in full force. The establishment is headed by Transmutable and Top Dog. George Keeton registered the three horses he brought here from California. They are Emigrante, Stepahead and Borsodi. L. R. Welisch is transferring Achieve and Paravant here from Aurora Wednesday and will remain for the season. J. P. Ebelhardt is here with Hilton and two others which he brought over from the Fox Valley track. Three others to get in here from Tanforan were D. Jefferson, with Fandan; S. Furnival, with Good Politian, and W. Crees, with Quib-bet and Tankie. Among the better riders at Aurora who will be at Lincoln Fields to ride opening day are Paul Ryan, Robert Conley and Jack Richard. R. T. Watts has taken over the training of eight horses of J. S. Gosselin, Aurora nrtron, and he will campaign them through the Lin-i coin Fields season. Jimmy McGee is expected here Wednesday from Louisville with the horses of C. A. Neil, Jr., Florida sportsman.
