SMITH DAVID, well ridden and hustled along from the start, drew clear after subduing CHANCEFUL, responded to strong urging approaching the final quarter and won with something to spare. CHANCEFUL, forced wide when reaching the early lead, was unable to withstand the winner, hold on to the final eighth and then tired. HINDU PRINCESS improved her position while racing wide and finished strongly. BABY EAGLE tired. GAY JAY had no mishaps. STINGO showed little. DULCIMER, fast to begin, wore down MANDAS BABY after three-eighths, drew clear in the stretch and won with something left. MY COLIN, steadied along early, moved up when ready, failed to menace the winner, but finished strongly. NAUGHTY dropped back soon after the start and, listlessly ridden for three-eighths, came fast in the drive. MANDAS BABY tired. WINDSHIELD, in close quarters early, was sent to the outside on the upper turn, but showed little thereafter. PEPPER tired after improving position on the inside in the drive. HIGH SANTA took command at once, was unable to draw clear, gave way when swinging wide on the stretch turn, came fast when straight and outfinished GRIMALDI. The latter, hustled along from the start, saved ground throughout, gained the lead when the winner swung wide, but was unable to hold it. TARPON, in close quarters early, moved up when clear and finished well. CHEROKEE RED, forced wide throughout, closed with a rush. BIG ONE made up ground in the drive. HIGH HAND II., used up in reaching contention, was done after five-eighths. ODD STAR had a rough trip. HONEY CHILE began slowly and lacked racing room. WEE HEDWIG was outrun. BLUE STAR, fractious but fast to begin, improved his position after a half mile and finished strongly. FERN CREEK worked his way .forward steadily and closed with a rush. TRAVEL AGENT began in a tangle, was rushed forward when clear arid tired after a half mile. WEE BETSY saved ground and held on well. SUSIEBELL raced wide throughout.
