MAYER SIGNS LONCOPENH AVER Leaves for Aqueduct to Supervise Shipment of Horses to Ingle-wood Track in California. CICERO, 111., Oct 12. Lon Copenhavcr, Oregon horseman, today returned by plane from Los Angeles, where he accepted the position as trainer of the horses acquired by Louis B. Mayer, motion picture magnate. Copenhaver is to leave here tonierht for Aqueduct, where he will supervise the loading and shipment of the Mayer horses to the Inglewood track in the Golden State. The shipment, according to Copenhaver, will include Ossabaw, which Mayer recently purchased from Tovimy Hitchcock. Before leaving for the East, Copenhaver supervised the shipment of twenty-odd head he had here for his wife and others, to California. He said he would dispose of most of his wifes thoroughbreds and turn the others over to his brother to train. The Copenhaver stable has been one of the most successful of the Illinois season.
