COMMUNIST WRITER BARRED NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 12. Evelyn John St. Lbe Strachey, British writer and lecturer on communism, was barred from entry to the United States yesterday by immigration authorities. They ordered him held aboard the Normandie overnight for a hearing on whether he should be allowed to enter the country on a temporary permit for a lecture tour.
