As was the case at the last meeting secretary "Bob" Shelly is offering a chance to all divisions of horses and is offering stakes at distances that vary from six furlongs to a mile and a furlong. This is a mile and a furlong affair and it will take a rugged lady to win the event. Three days later will be Futurity Day, the largest afternoon of the meeting. The Futurity will be followed by the mile and a sixteenth Aquidneck Handicap for the older division; the mile and a sixteenth Wannamoisett, a distance test for juveniles; the six furlongs Chopmist, an all age event and the Rhode Island on the final day of the regular meeting. The program is a well-balanced one, the barns of Narragansett filled with high class horses and even with Rhode Island in poor financial condition because of the hurricane and tidal wave damage, the session has been a success.
