ORPHAN LASS was sent forward leaving the back stretch, wore down CHIC GAL, took the lead and held on gamely. FAIR WAVE raced evenly. CHIC GAL quit. MINDA made up ground. TRAPLAKE, steadied back of the pace the first half mile, was sent forward rounding the turn and closed willingly. TEA JESTER, away slowly, worked way up steadily on the outside and closed with a rush through the final quarter mile. HI-PEGGY closed with a rush through the final throe-eighths. ANCIENT ROME faltered after three-quarters. KINDRED SPIRIT quit. PRINCE PAGAN raced forwardly placed and, saving ground, had no mishaps. MISS TWINKLE met sharp interference leaving the back stretch and was forced to take up. PIPES PAL saved ground entering the stretch, closd willingly and outfinished CROFTER. The latter worked way up steadily on the outside and came gamely through the final quarter mile. BUCHAREST raced forwardly placed and had no mishaps. CRINOLINE raced evenly. The latter worked way through in the first mile and a half, then faltered in the drive. GAY SYMPATHY forced the pace for a mile and a half, took a brief lead, then faltered. MISS GORMLEY quit.
