DUROCHER BROOKLYN MANAGER BROOKLYN, N. Y., Oct. 12. Leo Du-rocher, playing captain of the Brookklyn Dodgers, yesterday, was named manager of : the team for i939. Larry McPhail, business manager of the Dodgers, in announcing Du-rochers appointment, also announced that Chas. Dressen, former manager of the Cincinnati Reds, and Bill Killifer, former manager of Sacramento, on the Pacific Coast, had been selected as Durochers coaches. Naming Dressen and Killifer to the coaching jobs, means that "Babe" Ruth, who has been coach of the Dodgers for most of the season, will not be with the club next year.
