AUTO SIT DOWN STRIKE DETROIT, Mich., Oct. 12. A sit down strike of 200 United Automobile Workers Union members today forced a. shutdown of the Motor Products Companys plant, employing 2,400. Strike leaders said the sit down was called because the management refused to meet with U. A. W. president Homer Martin to negotiate for a new contract.
