! RIVER DOWNS TURF NOTES f ; $ Al Miller, who brought I. J. Collins Bernard F. and three others over from Latonia, I took over Eastorian, Bahamas, Fylfot, Bet-nabar and Kievray to train for the Lancaster, Ohio, sportsman and former member of the racing commission. Former jockey Guy Mangan is making the engagements for Antonio Fernandez, and Harry Flemming was licensed as agent for J. W. Wilson. 0. B. Rogers is training Litigation, Lady Wauneka and Miss Gatewood. The trio were vanned from Latonia. C. R. Allen took over Best o Luck and Mr. Conn to train for H. M. Smith. S. T. Mapp, trainer of the M. J. Schmitt stable, has been engaged to handle Valvesta for William Kenney of Paris, Ky., and Queenie Wing for Mrs. Bertha Ball of Louisville, Ky. Otis Clelland has Little Nymph, Marca-bala, Stepinanna, Three Bangs, Royal Broom, Bugle Bell and Lucky Amelia for Mrs. R. J. Murphy. Mrs. Joe Blakley, the only woman licensed trainer in Ohio, is directing the conditioning of Irish Wake, her property, and Star Soldier, for Sharp and Pace. Additions to the fast-growing jockey colony are Herman Schutte, J. Trent, N. Fowler, C. W. Smith, W. Hanka, J. Hatton and Alfred Connor. 1. J. Killion unloaded Rettef, Ethels Choice, Blacksod and Dr. Maxwell, which! came from Fairmount Park. C. T. Hall purchased the plater Honduras from Sam Gentile. Terms were private. When the fourth and fifth races for Thursday failed to attract enough entries, the original second race was split to make up the fields for the first and second and the purse values were raised from 05 to 00.
