FOGELSONS GREY WINS 2 Gray Jack Accounts for Stamford Purse at Narragansett. Lady Sara Begins Day Auspiciously for the Favorite Players Light Rain Falls Intermittently. ! ! - PAWTUCKET, R. I., Nov. 8. E. E. Fogel- son, the gentleman "who prefers grays and ; races them almost exclusively, sent out two horses of the same color in the Stamford 1 Purse, which featured the Election Day sport at Narragansett Park, and one of them won for him. This was Gray Jack, coupled in the betting with Grey Count, which took the six furlongs event under a hard drive, beating Cosgrave Stables Bobs Boys by a neck. Two and one-half lengths back of the battling leadersMrs. Kirby Ramseys Palamede, "hot" choice, finished third after moving up in menacing fashion on the turn. Ralph Eccard was astride the winner, the race marking a consecutive double for the lad of Portugese descent. Grey Count set the pace for his stablemate and when he was collared by Bobs Boys at the far turn Gray Jack moved up to make his bid. Bobs Boys set the pace before Gray Jack by a narrow margin around the turn and into the stretch, where Gray Jack took the lead by inches. NECK AND NECK. The two came down the stretch neck-and-neckand it was still either ones race at the sixteenth post. There Bobs Boys gave way gradually. He never did quit, however, and made the winner run to his best form to beat him. Palamede trailed the field to the far turn. At that point Ashcrofts whip bore down hard, and under a punishing ride he moved past horses, looming as a factor at the head of the stretch. He could gain little or no ground on the leading pair in the final eighth, however. The race was run in 1:45, light rains falling intermittently during the afternoon having no effect on track conditions. Mrs. W. M. Emersons Lady Sara, a heavy choice, lost the lead but regained it again to win the opening six furlongs race by a length over Mrs. Tom Marshalls Primer. Primer took the lead at the head of the stretch briefly, but the favorite came on gamely to win drawing away. J. Thor-walds Imperial Maryan was third, a length and a half off the runner-up and just a nose in advance of Old Dominion.. The time was 1:12. TAKES EARLY LEAD. Lady Sara took the early lead, with Primer moving to within a head of her on the turn and taking the van under a drive as they straightened out. Primers lead was shortlived, although he held on gamely until the final yards, where Lady Sara inched away.
