GEN. FORD ASSUMES COMMAND Maj. Gen. Stanley H. Ford, who has been an Army man since he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1898 during the Spanish-American wax, formally assumed command of the Sixth Corps Area Monday, succeeding Maj. Gen. Hugh A. Drum, who left last week for Governors Island.
