DETROIT EMPLOYMENT GAINS DETROIT, Mich., Nov. 8. According to the local board of commerce, industrial employment in this area was increased by 37,-000 workers during the latter part of October, making the total number employed 317,-000; The index compiled by the board was set at 88 on October 31, as against 77.7 per cent on October 15, and 124.9 per cent on October 31, 1937.
