NOTED AVIATOR NEAR DEATH BUCHAREST, Rumania, Nov. 8. Alexander Papana, Rumanian aviator, who twice cracked up after starting attempted trans-Atlantic flights from the United States to Rumania, was found close to death today at the edge of a 6,000 feet deep precipice near Sinaia, high in the Carpathian Alps. The aviator was discovered by a mountaineer who hastened to inform the Royal Guards at King Carols Sinaia palace. At the Sinaia hospital, to which he was rushed, the authorities who examined him were reported to have found traces of poison in his system. Friends of Papana declared here today that he had felt slighted when no reception was given him on his return from his bad-luck trip to the United States.
