t BAY MEADOWS TURF NOTES f $ R. L. Anderson checked in with his lone horse when he received quarters for Royal Rover at Tanforan. Southern Belle, which has been turned out for several months, will be returned to training next week and made ready for a winter campaign. Trainer D. Y. Elander, Jr., who has been ill at his apartment with an attack of the "flu," was a visitor Tuesday and resumed the conditioning of the horses, Boom Town and Tellwick, the latter being recently acquired from M. Child at private terms. F. E. Childs, W. W. Finn and George Lamb contemplate sending a carload of horses to the impending Agua Caliente meeting, which commences November 24. The shipment will get away some time next week. Hurst and Grayson Philpot have purchased a yearling colt by Flying Ebony from Mrs. W. C. Van Antwerp and have shipped him to E. Janss Canejo Ranch. Hurst Philpot states that the good sprinter, First Kiss, is coming along splendidly and will be seen in action shortly. Philpot recently put a price of 0,000 on First Kiss. E. Wright has vanned up Hadtobe from the Liberty Ranch in the San Fernando Valley.
