HASTRARCH raced close to the pace set by GOOLE in the early part, headed the latter in the stretch and, going well to the finish, had enough left to hold WARALII. The latter, easily best but badly ridden, was permitted to drop far back of the leaders while under restraint in the early stages, raced to the middle of the track in the stretch, but, finishing gamely on his own courage, still would have won but for swerving into the deeper going and being timidly handled nearing the end.
