TANFORAN S SPRING DATES SAN BRUNO, Calif., Dec. 6 Tanforan, which closes the racing season in. northern California this year, will open it in 1939. Directing owner John W. Marchbank has announced that in the spring Tanforan will open on Saturday, March 18, one week after the close of Santa Anita, and will continue for twenty-five racing days, closing April 22. The Tanforan spring meeting will be followed by twenty-five days at Bay Meadows. It has been announced that one day in the spring will be set aside for charity, the proceeds to go to the Community Chest or such other charities as will be chosen.
