ARMSTRONG STOPS MANFREDO CLEVELAND, Ohio, Dec. 6. Henry Armstrong successfully defended his welterweight championship last night when he scored a technical knockout over Al Man-fredo of San Francisco. Referee La Branch stopped the bout in the third round after 1:45 of fighting. The loser was practically helpless in the second and third rounds and was wobbling badly when the referee decided to call a halt to the proceedings.
