1 TANFORAN TURF NOTES f S $ S. J. Norris, owner of Mr. Blaze, departed for his home in Monrovia, Calif., after watching his horses victory in the Golden Gate Handicap Saturday. West Bros, have turned the distance runner, Enlo, over to F. E. Fitzgerald to train. Fitzgerald replaces Charlie Irby. Julius Wild, well-known San Francisco sportsman, presented Johnny Longden with a valuable stopwatch for riding Pala Chief to victory Saturday. Pala Chief was recently purchased by Wild and registered his first win for his new owner, Saturday. The following horses have been passed on by the stewards and will be permitted to start: Bernie Boy, Can Ele, Cleanup, Full Tilt, Paradun, Shalot, Supreme Court and Sweep Hastily. Starter Eddie Thomas has placed Model Dame, Kent and Fence Rider on the schooling list. J. A. Gormley, former trainer for the A. C. T. Stock Farm, is at Tanforan and is seeking to get together a small stable for racing at Santa Anita during the winter. It was rumored at Tanforan Tuesday that possibility of a short race meeting at Palm Springs loomed. The session, if held, will get under way December 20 and will be of eight days duration. The race track at Palm Springs is a half mile in circumference and several exhibition running races were held there recently.
