FYLFOT was a strong contender from the beginning, raced in nearest attendance of the winner and held on willingly to the finish. GONSBABY bettered his position steadily and came gamely in the closing drive. BILLIE DEE OR held a prominent position, but was not good enough. SHANTIME could not enter contention. QUICK VINE was outrun. ORPHAN LASS could not untrack herself in the footing. FAIR DESIGN trailed throughout. ACCIDENTAL, away nicely, was hustled to the front going to the first turn, drew clear on the stretch turn, but tired fast under a hard drive in the last eighth and barely laited long enough. BOB JUNIOR forced the pace from the start, came again after dropping back on the final turn, then came through on the inside and just failed to get up. GENERAL HAY was ridden stoutly, but could not engage the first two. EXTRA GOOD raced evenly. GAME CHASER was in trouble on the first turn, then was taken extremely wide for racing room. COLIN ROI was always outrun. SAIL BY showed speed for a half mile. GEORGETOWN was never a threat. BLIND TALK, permitted to settle in his best strides before going to the leaders, moved up stoutly on the turn out of the back stretch, overhauled the pacemaker after reaching the stretch and was under strong urging at the end. ROUGH BUDDY sprinted into an easy lead when straightened into the back stretch, disposed of HANDLEY, but quit badly in the closing eighth. HANDLEY was stoutly ridden from the start and had no excuses. PARALLEL came gamely in the final drive. FLYING CHEROKEE closed a big gap. .DARLING PAT was never a factor. DOWN TIMBER retired badly. EARLY BROOM, avoiding crowding, raced well placed, challenged stoutly nearing the stretch when placed to a stout drive, closed willingly in the final eighth and was up in the last seventy yards. TULEYRIES STAR raced into a short lead, was steadied nicely and continued with good courage after meeting bold challenges. BYNUMS RUN improved his position gradually and came with good energy in the closing drive. SQUARE PLAY came over sharply in the first sixteenth to pile up several of the starters, raced strongly until the last eighth, then tired. JACKEMMA showed a good effort. KTWO was outrun. GOANTELL was crowded badly in the first sixteenth and had no chance. STAR TURN came very wide in the late stages. The latter, squeezed back in the first quarter mile, found racing room to be sent forward on the inside, reached the winner on the stretch turn, but faltered from his early efforts noaring the end. PLAYING DAN broke very slowly, then circled his field to close an immense gap. PENWAY drew clear early, but failed to rally when placed to a drive. MORE PEP lost ground and could not keep up.
