ROIDEF had good speed from the beginning, made the pace under good rating and tired near the end, but lasted. FLAG ORLAND, a sharp factor from the start, swung very wide into the stretch and closed gamely. HOLTON, never a great distance back, was hard ridden after three-eighths, was carried wide entering the stretch by FLAG ORLAND and finished strongly. PARKWOOD CHIEF, outrun for a half mile, made up ground fast thereafter. GOLDEN CHIMES raced evenly. MAEWHISK had no mishaps. TEPERWINE tired after showing good speed for five-eighths. HEDON, weli up from the beginning and in hand for a half mile, took command with a rush entering the stretch, then drew out and tired, but stalled off IDLE WORKER. The latter, slow to begin, was rushed into a contending position in the first quarter, raced wide and closed boldly. PRINCE JEAN, unable to keep up the first half mile, made up ground thereafter under vigorous handling. ENCIRCLE made the pace under occasional pressure, held on well to the last three-sixteenths and tired. ROYAL LINK saved ground and had no mishaps. FALSE CARD tired after a half mile. MOISSON broke sluggishly and refused to extend himself. JESSIE O. was outrun. GOSTER, close up from the start and responding readily to vigorous urging, moved up gradually on the outside when straightened in the stretch, disposed of RED MAGIC in the last eighth and held JOT-EM-DOWN safe. The latter lacked early speed, worked his way through the field, came to the outside in the stretch and finished with a rush. MISS MONTE, fractious at the gate, was in close quarters early and improved his position steadily when clear. RED MAGIC was hustled into the lead soon after the start, saved "ground while setting the pace, but tired in the drive. ODDESA NANCY broke swiftly, then raced well up for a half mile. TRANSEN showed brief early speed. JACKKNIFE began slowly and improved his position slightly while saving ground. WENT TO POST 3:30. AT POST minute. Start bad and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. ROYAL BROOM, away in motion and having the best of the start, opened up a commanding lead quickly, saved ground while setting the pace and just lasted to hold MISS WEBB safe in the drive. The latter, away slowly, worked her way up through the field, responded courageously to strong urging and was getting to the winner in the late stages. MAEBOB raced extremely wide all the way and tired in the last eighth. VALDINA, never far out of it, held on well under urging in the last quarter. MIGAL FAY could not keep up and went out the mile in 1:41. MORNING MAIL was virtually left at the post and was never a factor. ONCAVE, always far out of it, went out the extra quarter after the race in 1:42. BRIDES DELIGHT was much used in an effort to catch the leader and quit badly in the last quarter. SIR QUEST made the pace without need of pressure, was briskly shaken up when challenged and tired in the drive. RAMROD, under strong restraint for seven-eighths, took command on the inside approaching the last eighth and then tired. CHEROKEE RED tired after showing speed to the last quarter. SUMMIT HILL had no mishaps. The others were outrun. ALAN CHICLE, hustled into a commanding lead quickly and saving ground to the final quarter, began bearing out thereafter, continued gamely and held ROSSELLI safe. The latter was outrun for throe-quarters, came between horses thereafter with a rush and closed rapidly. STEPINANNA, well up and on the inside throughout, held on with good courage under rousing tactics. BESS B. followed in closest pursuit of the pacemaker to the final eighth, where she suddenly gave way. ODDESAS PRIDE was taken in hand early, then failed to respond when placed to pressure. MISS FIREFLY, well up from the beginning, was in close quarters, was pinched back on the first turn and never recovered. ABBOTS HOUR bor? out on the first turn, moved up thereafter, but tired after a half mile: LOAFER moved up with a rush, reached third position on the outside in the final eighth when he broke his off foreleg and fell. -. - Overweight Bws B., 2 pounds. INGLE NOOK moved into a contending position after three-eighths and finished gamely under pressure. STORMY SEA, much used to hold his position lor three quarters, tired in the drive. MR. QUICK failed to rally when shaken up. PISH TUSH was under frequent pressure to keep up for seven-eighths, was hard ridden thereafter and tired in the last eighth.
