LINER PARIS MANNED BY NAVY SOUTHAMPTON, England, Dec. 9. -The French liner Paris, first of the major French passenger liners to run the gauntlet of the maritime strike, sailed today for New York. Manned by 257 men and officers of the French navy and by French Line personnel, replacing striking crew members, the vessel presented an entirely normal aspect as she arrived here from Cherbourg, from where she had sailed yesterday. After refueling and taking on New York passengers, she continued on the trans-Atlantic voyage without incident.
