I BINGLINS IMPORTATIONS Lynn Howard Goes to New York to See Recent Purchases From South America. SAN BRUNO, Calif., Dec. 9 Lynn Howard, co-owner of-Binglin Stable, hastened to New York on receipt of news that several South American horses, recently purchased in Argentina, unloaded from the steamer Wednesday. Sorteado, Charles S. Howards new stake star, and Don Mike, consigned to Binglin Stable-, were among the arrivals, Howard reported. In addition there are four other South American horses in the consignment. Four belong to Binglin Stable and a fifth is owned jointly by Bob Crosby, brother of Bing, and Dixie Lee Mrs. Bing Crosby. Howard indicated Don Mike and the other Binglin purchases will be shipped to the Pacific Coast for winter campaigning and turned over to Jimmy Smith, son of Tom Smith, to train. Binglin Stable owns Ligaroti, Comet U., Olimpo and Sabueso giving them a total of eight Latins of assorted ages. Lynn Howard did not profess to know the plans for Sorteado other than to point out the Argentinian star is named for the Widener Cup and the Santa Anita Handicap. Don Mike is a four-year-old contestant in stakes on the South American turf and winner of two important events. Data on the Binglin outlanders follows: Ras Tassari, three-year-old, winner of two out of six; Preceptor, five-year-old, winner of eight races; Don Mike, winner of six I races; Elolia, four-year-old, winner of three races; Prof undo, three-year-old, and a good one, third in the Gran Premio Nacional, won j by Sorteado.
