I I CHARLES TOWN TURF NOTES . and William Shewbridge, who is on the grounds here in the interests of the winter meeting of the Havana-American Racing Association, received word in a telephone conversation with James F. Milton, general manager at i Oriental Park, that over 150 horses are sta-! bled on the grounds and shipments are j arriving daily. Improvements at the track, 1 for which a substantial sum was spent, are and almost completed, and others are going for-1 ward. 3 Application blanks for stall space of the Hollywood Jockey Club, Inc., in Florida, are available to horsemen here. The meeting is expected to open January 18. Five new stables are expected to be finished by Decem- ber 17. 3 Watt Elliott, who has eight members of I his stable turned out at Bowie for the win-3 ter months, came from his home in Grants- ville, Md., to witness the racing here Thurs-1 day. Elliott plans to spend his vacation in 1 California, j Donald Hay, who has been appointed mutuels manager for the Hollywood Jockey Club of Florida, is planning his crew of 250 men for the meeting, which opens late in January. The following horsemen plan to send divisions of their stables to Florida for the meeting of the Hollywood Jockey Club, Inc.: Everett Brining, J. B. Bond, Allan Getz, J. Bosley, Charles Beal, William Zakoor and others. Hugh Gallagher and his wife are en routo to Florida from Toronto, Ont, and stopped off to take in the sport at Charles Town Friday. Schooling classes are conducted each morning from the four and one-half furlongs chute by the ground crew of starter William Hamilton. Classes arc held from 8 to 9 oclock.
