The main Greentree forces came on from Belmont Park in charge of trainer John Gaver. There are twenty-eight head in all, an even dozen of which are coming two-year-olds. Gaver stated that he had made a number of nominations for the 0,-000 added Widener Challenge Cup and the 0,000 added Flamingo Stakes, as well as other important features to be decided during the forthcoming session. The aged horses which will sport the famous pink and black "striped silks are Brush Hook, five-year-old chestnut gelding; Eli Yale, four-year-old bay colt, and Drowsy, four-year-old gray filly. The three-year-olds are Redbreast, bay colt; Armor Bearer, bay gelding; Birthday, chestnut colt; Perfect Peace, chestnut gelding, and Lourdes, bay filly. Listed on the two-year-old. roster are Hash, Third Degree and Day Off, colts; Roll and Toss and Cherry Jam, geldings, and Slave Song and Twist, fillies. "We had high hopes for Redbreast on his two-year-old showing," Gaver said. "His most important triumph as a juvenile came in the Babylon Handicap at Aqueduct. We expected considerable from the son of Chicle this year as a three-year-old and he performed fairly well, but not up to expectations. I think he will develop plenty of class this winter in the Florida sunshine. He is filling out into a powerful-looking animal and seems to have ! taken a new lease on life."
