JACK DEMPSEY HONORED NEW YORK, N. Y., Dec. 9. Voted by New York boxing writers as having done most for the sport in 1938, Jack Dempsey, former worlds heavyweight champion, has been awarded the Edward J. Neil Memorial Trophy, so named in honor of the former Associated Press sports writer and war correspondent who was killed while covering the Spanish civil war last year.
