1 NARRAGANSETT PARK NOTES I Officials of the Massachusetts State Police visited the administration building today to discuss the traffic problems which will inevitably arise when the race-going motorists begin to crowd the highways for the opening of the spring meeting. The state officers said that while all officers had been instructed to exercise the utmost courtesy toward out-of-state drivers, no wild nor reckless driving would be tolerated. Over 200 horses unloaded from trains and vans at Narragansett, bringing the total horse population of the Pawtucket stables to close to 600. The influx of horsemen following the closing of Tropical Park made it necessary to double the working force in the stable area. H. A. Coward unloaded twelve head which arrived from Bowie this morning. The string included Waxwing, Prince Cloud, Sport Heel, Phalasan, Polly Hastings, My Day, Be Jabbers, Pima Nugget, Way Yonder, Golden Silence, Sailorman and Bay Boy. Cowards fine apprentice, A. Bowen, will do the riding. Billy Hodson checked in this morning from Tropical Park. He brought eighteen head, most of them well known to New England racegoers. The string included Ellen H., Mansco, Spandau, Stepacola, R. Pinchot, Dr. Hyman, Jackie D., and others which have often appeared at Narragansett. Lyman Brusie unloaded twelve head, shipped from Florida this morning. Mere Blaze heads the string which included Grace Margaret, The Mauler, Mobcap and; John Warren. Jockey M. Greer arrived Wednesday and will ride for the Flying Horse Farm at the spring meeting.
