HUGHES NOT TO RETIRE WASHINGTON, D. C, April 12. Charles Evans Hughes, chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, upon the occasion of his seventy-seventh birthday yesterday, announced that he intends to continue his work, as presiding officer of the highest court in tha land.
